Guided Mediation
Grand Canyon
by Aline Houston
Start in a comfortable seated position.
Elevate your hips slightly by sitting on a pillow or block.
Sit up tall and straight from your tailbone up to the crown of your head.
Place palms on knees relaxed, close your eyes, relax your face.
We're sitting on a beautiful spot in the glorious vastness of the Grand Canyon.
Start to focus on your breath, let all your thoughts go.
As thoughts enter into your mind, gently push them away, bringing your awareness back to your cleansing breath.
We are walking down a path in this beautiful natural space called the Grand Canyon, slowly walking, with each step, we hear the subtle crunch of the white rock and dirt under our feet.
There's an eagle soaring high in the powder blue sky above us. He is beautifully content allowing the wind to take him wherever it may.
With each glance out into the canyon, your heart fills with warmth.
The awesome vastness of this space called the Grand Canyon, casts no judgement on our being.
We are one in the vastness, one in the solitude, one in the beauty.
The sun burning soft yellow rays through soft powder clouds.
There is a gentle warm breeze blowing through each strand of our hair, blowing past us, speaking to us with it's whirl as it changes direction due to rock formations.
The wondrous curves of the rock mountainside showing us it's beauty with warm hues of browns, golds, and whites.
We hear birds in the distance chirping that springtime is near.
We are being nourished by all that we are in it's natural form-NATURE.
As we bring our awareness to our Third eye, between our brow, back to our breath, our mind opens with a spacious new colors.
Allow yourself to see what colors may come into that space.
Surrender all your thoughts up to the sky.
*Long silence*
Now bring your awareness back to your breath and your fingers, toes legs and arms. Feel the renewed blood slowly warming your body, as you begin to move again.
Let's end by repeating: “Om Bhavam Namah” “I am absolute existence”
We are one with nature and nature is one with us. We commune with nature. There is no judgement.
We are one in the vastness, one in the solitude, one in the beauty.
