Vinyasa Flow yoga-a type of practice involving synchronizing the breath with a continuous flow of postures. The fluid movements with breath increase flexibility, strength, and stamina, as it calms the mind and improves overall health.
Yin yoga- a type of practice where you hold poses for a longer period of time compared to other traditional types of yoga. This targets your deep connective tissues, like your fascia, ligaments, joints, and bones. It’s slower and more meditative, giving you space to turn inward and tune into both your mind and the physical sensations of your body. Yin yoga helps you stretch and lengthen those rarely-used tissues while also teaching you how to breathe through discomfort and sit with your thoughts.
Yoga Nidra (i-rest)-iRest is an accessible practice involving sequences that integrate healing. It aids practitioners in recognizing the underlying peace of mind that is always present amidst all changing circumstances in life. Nidra essentially means “sleep”. In Yoga Nidra you are in the state between awake and asleep. During the practice you may find yourself right on the edge of falling asleep and deeply relaxed, yet awake to the experience.
Thai Bodywork-Thai massage focuses on the “sen” lines that run through our bodies. There are 9 sen lines from your toes to your head. Following this road map, the therapist is stretching, pulling, rocking, and compressing the body to increase healing and release illness. In Thai Bodywork, the person remains clothed, with the practice being performed on the floor on a mat.
Reiki-The word “Reiki” comes from the Japanese words “rei” (universal) and “ki” (life energy). Reiki is a type of energy healing that targets the energy fields in and around the body. Energy can stagnate in the body where there has been physical and/or emotional pain. In time, these energy blocks can cause illness. Energy medicine aims to help the flow of energy and remove blocks in a similar way to acupuncture or acupressure. Improving the flow in and around the body can enable relaxation, reduce pain, speed healing, and reduce other symptoms of illness.
